Do you have a music list I can see?

Absolutely! Your choice: View our 180,000 song music library on-line.

 

How many year have you been in business?

JMG Music & Entertainment was founded by James M Goldstein in June 1990 and we are still family owned and operated.

 

Do you play downloaded music?

Yep! LEGALLY downloaded music! Most of our music purchases come from a promotional music service called Promo Only Or Top Hits USA - All of our music is legally purchased and meets FCC Regulations (clean versions)

 

Who controls the volume?

You do! Our professional sound system provides superior, balanced, clear sound in a full frequency range at any volume, not just the middle frequencies. With us, you control the volume according to your desires.

 

Do you have a video of your DJs in action?

We don't make videos available for the following reason: We feel that every event is unique, and that a video of someone else's party might not capture the style or essence of what you're looking for.

 

What type of equipment do you use?

The Best! There is a difference between the audio equipment you have at your home and professional Disc Jockey equipment. Our equipment is built for mobile entertainment and includes a wireless microphone. Rather than dazzle you with technicalities, our "balanced" digital sound system is crystal clear at any volume.

 

Do you supply a written contract?

Yes! All terms of our agreement/services will be in writing to avoid any complications. And you will be supplied a copy of the contract for your records. Your contract is printable thru your event planner or we can issue a Contract Agreement via email or the U.S. Mail.

 

Do you have references we can contact?

Yes. References are an important part of any business. We will be happy to provide you with names and contact information to some of our past clients.

 

Will our DJ get involved with our event?

We interact with your guests at a level YOU desire. We can customize our performance to create an atmosphere of elegance and sophistication, or high-energy excitement. Our "Event Planning Forms" help us understand what you are looking for in entertainment. At your request, we can also provide a variety of activities to involve your guests.

 

Do you take requests during the celebration?

Yes! In addition to your music selections, we gladly welcome requests from your guests. The combination of your suggestions, your guest's choices and our expertise create the perfect music for your party.

 

Do you have backup equipment?

Yes! We always have on-site backup audio and related equipment for extra piece of mind.

 

Can we see you perform before our event?

No! We do not use our clients' events as a venue to show prospective clients. Your special day is for you, not for others looking for entertainment services. Potential clients are invited to meet us and have a "no obligation" one-on-one consultation to discuss their concerns and ask questions.

 

Will I get to meet our Disc Jockey prior to our event?

Yes! We will contact you and schedule a meeting 4 to 6 weeks before your wedding reception or party. This personal consultation allows us to answer your questions, discuss details and customize your celebration.

 

How much do you charge?

Each event is unique and the entertainment is tailored to suit you. Please call or email us for a free, no obligation consultation.

 

What are your payment terms?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. Cash and checks are also accepted.

 

Are we supposed to "tip" the DJ and if so, how much?

Our prices reflect the services we offer. However, we are a "service-based" industry. If you feel that the service you receive from your DJ warrants thanking them by offering a gratuity, we are more than appreciative but it is not a requirement. A follow-up thank-you and your referrals to others let us know that we've done our job. A gratuity shows the DJ immediate appreciation and gratitude for a job well done.

We are consistently asked what the appropriate gratuity should be. There isn't a formula that were aware of but in our experience it appears to be about 10-15% is the average.

 

Do you take any breaks during our event?

No! We play continuous music during your party. We do not use tapes or other per-recorded music and leave your event unattended.
